WINNER TAKES ALL: COLTS HOST WINDSOR IN TITLE DECIDER

RAMS Colts seek a second consecutive OBB Division One title when they host Windsor in a winner-takes-all clash on Sunday (1.30pm).

Both teams go into the contest with a super six wins from six, Rams sitting two points above the visitors thanks to a couple of extra bonuses.

Dave Cox’s defending champions began the campaign with a 43-14 success at Maidenhead, Mason Pennington with a double as captain Aaron Preston, Charlie Burton and Elliott Jones were among the other scorers, Matt Cox with four conversions.

A sensational 54-0 home win followed as Jack Mander and Declan Grobbelaar both bagged braces, Obi Nwachuku, Jake Scott, Dougie Bardsley and Josh Gouws also crossing the whitewash with Cox landing seven more kicks.

Points keep flowing

Another half-century was racked up in a 54-17 success versus Marlow, Nwachuku, Mander, Cox, Jayden Benham and Teagan Strydom all over before the break before Finlay Wells, Grobbelaar and Pennington completed the job in an outstanding display.

Following a long break and the disappointment of a National Cup last 16 exit at Rosslyn Park, Rams regathered in ruthless fashion with a nine-try 53-0 victory at Oxford Harlequins.

All the tries came from the pack with Scott helping himself to four, Cian Tappan a double and Nwachuku, Preston and Benham also dotting down.

Scott, Tappan, Nwachuku and Strydom helped seal a tough 24-0 bonus-point win at Amersham & Chiltern before a 40-5 triumph at Bracknell set-up Sunday’s decisive head-to-head.

On this occasion it was Preston, Matt Hill, Luke Thorpe, Mander, Ryan Carr and Scott who crossed the whitewash, Cox with his kicking boots on for five from six.

Windsor also unbeaten

Windsor, meanwhile, opened their campaign with a 39-24 home win against Quins before following up with a 28-22 triumph at Bracknell.

The east Berkshire side were also knocked out of the cup by Rosslyn Park (30-5), but were given a concession by Chinnor before downing visitors Amersham 21-5.

And an eye-catching 36-21 win against Marlow was followed by a closer 10-5 win at home to Maidenhead to leave everything to play for.

Entry for Sunday’s game is free with food and drink available.
