Eventual champions Rotherham Titans put Rams to the sword in an 80-7 rout at Clifton Lane.
The Yorkshiremen took an early lead as James Norman went over, Lloyd Hayes with the extras.
Yet Rams were holding their own and levelled through Fergus Dick and Mike Cooke’s boot.
Hayes bagged a converted brace, however, and Mitchell Lacey-Babalola’s score on the stroke of half-time made it 26-7.
And the table-toppers raced into fifth gear during a brutal second period.
Norman doubled up, Hayes with the extras, before John Okafor dotted down.
A quickfire converted double from Callum Bustin took Titans beyond their half century, and it was 66-7 with 10 minutes to play as Norman completed his hat-trick and Isaac Shaw got on the scoresheet.
Xavier Valentine was next to cross, Shaw with a second in the final stages as Hayes took his conversion tally to 10 from 12 attempts.
Park prevail for first time at OBR
Another setback arrived seven days later as Rosslyn Park won at Old Bath Road for the first time, the Londoners taking a 36-19 success.
Luke Mehson’s first-minute effort had the visitors in front before debutant Alex Mannhardt equalised.
But Ed Morgan converted scores from Charlie Walker and Tom Stanton to put Rosslyn 21-7 up at the end of the first quarter.
Andrew Lamb, however, added to an Axel Kalling-Smith try to make it a seven-point game at the interval.
But man-of-the-match Morgan converted his own score, then slotted a penalty and bisected the uprights following a Max Fraine score.
Cooke landed after Zach Clow crossed with three minutes remaining, but it was too little, too late.
Rams, however, ended the season on a high with a thrilling 61-40 final-day triumph against Sedgley Park.
Max Marshall scored his maiden Rams try before Willo Bicknell and Lamb crossed, Mike Cooke adding a trio of kicks for 21-0.
Tigers got off the mark through Josh Ree, the full-back landing before repeating the trick following a Matt Tansey effort.
But Bicknell and Lamb doubled their tallies and Cooke retained his 100 per cent record for 35-14 at the interval.
The game was well and truly alive, however, as Sedge roared back early in the second half through Ree and Tom Hesketh seven-pointers.
Marshall and Adam Mallinson exchanged scores and with Cooke off-target for the first time, it was now 40-35.
The hosts responded, though, pulling clear as Clow touched down, skipper Bicknell completing his first hat-trick.
Cooke converted both to extend the lead to 19 points.
But Park again responded through Rhys Henderson, only for Aaron Tull and Cooke’s boot to complete the job.
Victory extended Rams remarkable final home game winning streak to 13 years, last losing to Amersham & Chiltern in 2013!
And it was also the final game of Connor Stapley’s storied OBR career, in which he scored 20 tries in 145 appearances.
