Recent Form:

Stortford seem back in business off the back of a comeback 34-19 home win against Clifton and a tremendous 26-21 downing of Sale FC.

The Hertfordshire side have been streaky all season having previously lost four on the bounce to Sedgley Park (30-14), plus top-three outfits Rotherham Titans (35-27), Plymouth Albion (39-17) and Blackheath (26-24).

But prior to that they enjoyed a five-match winning run against Tonbridge Juddians (26-24), Dings Crusaders (33-26), Rosslyn Park (28-27), Leicester Lions (48-29) and Rams (36-29).

Seven straight defeats followed an opening-day 26-12 toppling of Birmingham Moseley.

They read in reverse order Clifton (55-29), Leeds Tykes (46-36), Sale FC (43-12), Sedgley (20-15), Rotherham (71-12), Plymouth (31-15) and Blackheath (33-31).

Following a week off at the end of October, it was Rams who Stortford snapped their losing run against.

Players to Watch:

Isaac Bell – Former Loughborough University hooker has made appearances for Northampton Saints and Bedford Blues, before becoming a Stortford stalwart since joining in the summer of 2024.

Has 13 tries in 34 appearances (nine this term) and touched down against Rams back in November.

Chris Bolton – Scrum-half is Stortford’s leading points-scorer this term having amassed 83 points in 19 appearances (two tries, 26 conversions, seven penalties).

Moved up to National One in the summer of 2023 and is closing on a century of caps.

Previously played for Campion, Westcliff and Bury St Edmunds.

Tom Hitchcock – Former Stortford Mini was man-of-the-match on senior debut against Rams, with the Felsted School Alumni ever-present since.

And his role at influence at inside centre has been noticeable, five tries in 11 games helping Stortford win seven games having triumphed just once in their opening eight.

Having left Exeter University, he played for London Irish before spending time on loan at Championship side Ampthill.

A move to Ealing Trailfinders saw him score on loan against Rams for Richmond, the second half of the 2023/24 campaign spent at Coventry.

And following a successful season full-time in the Midlands, the 26-year-old returned to his junior club last summer.
