NATIONAL ONE ROUND-UP – WEEK THREE

PLYMOUTH Albion continued their perfect start to the season with a 31-15 success at Bishop Stortford.

Ryan Lamb’s men built a 12-0 lead through tries from Jake Clemson and Bobby Wigginton, Frankie Dart converting the first.

Stortford cut the gap with a Jake Morris five-pointer and Chris Bolton penalty either side of half-time, Albion regaining control through converted Jenson Boughton and Dan Pullinger efforts.

Wigginton doubled his tally before Ryan Davies grabbed a late consolation.

Titans, Park and Club march on

Rotherham Titans also made it three from three with a dominant 40-15 triumph at Clifton.

Lloyd Hayes converted an early Morgan Veness score for the visitors before Jay Evans crossed to cut the gap after 32 minutes.

Jackson Barling’s seven-pointer made it 14-5 to Titans at the break, and they extended their lead through an Isaac Shaw converted brace and a penalty try.

Tom Anderson went over for Clifton before Barling doubled up, Ricky Cano with the last word in defeat for the hosts.

Rosslyn Park pulled clear late on to remain unbeaten following a 47-24 home win versus Birmingham Moseley.

Ed Morgan converted a Charlie Walker try for the hosts before Mose levelled through Woody Pugh and Tommy Taylor, Park up 14-7 at the break after Luke Mehson went over and Morgan landed.

A Taylor penalty reduced the deficit before Charlie Piper went over, but a Morgan Dawes seven-pointer made it 19-17.

Converted tries from Morgan and Dawes left the game in the balance, but Rosslyn romped home as Mehson completed his hat-trick and Ali Wade dotted down, Steffan James with the final two conversions.

Blackheath are the other side with a 100 per cent record following a 47-12 away trouncing of Leicester Lions.

Ed Dunford added to Noah Sloot’s third-minute effort for Club before Max Humphreys went over for the Midlanders.

But further tries from Darragh Walsh and Ed Scragg, the latter added to by Dunford, made it 19-5 at the interval, and a penalty try and Sloot’s second extended the lead to 28 points.

Theo Mannion was on target after Freddie St John dotted down for Leicester, but Dunford did the same following late scores from Archie Bourne and Billy Harding.

Tonbridge continue fine start, Sedge win again

Tonbridge Juddians climbed to fifth after a 34-21 victory at Dings Crusaders.

Sam Evans converted Connor Lloyd’s try to put TJs in front before the hosts levelled through Sam Cantwell and Raff Weston.

Evans, however, added to tries from Will Holling and Hugo Culverhouse and with Lloyd slotting a penalty, the visitors were 24-7 up at half-time.

Sean Sharp went over to increase the lead before Dings gave themselves hope with Matt Jones and Harry Rowson seven-pointers, only for Bobby Bratton to seal the deal for Tonbridge.

Sedgley Park made it back-to-back wins with a 20-8 success at Leeds Tykes.

Will Yates crossed in the first minute for the hosts, but Ollie Glasse converted a Connor James try and landed a penalty as Rhys Henderson and Sam Thorpe also crossed for 20-5 at the break.

Ed Crossland kicked a 52nd-minute penalty for Leeds, but there were no further points in the rain.

In equally dreadful weather, Rams went down 31-17 at Sale.
