Max’s gong is the first time Rams have picked up the award since Week Three of the campaign when Fraser Honey took the honours following the 33-0 triumph against Sale.
Conversely, in eight of the side’s nine defeats this term an opposition player has taken the prize, starting with Rotherham’s Callum Bustin when Rams’ unbeaten start to the season was ended back in November, then followed by James Langston of Richmond, Rosslyn Park’s Harry Ledger, Tom Walsh at Sale, Bishop’s Stortford scrum-half Chris Bolton, Tuoyo Egodo of Birmingham Moseley, Plymouth Albion No. 9 Jack Oulton and Sedgley Park’s Bob Birtwell.
Rams have a weekend off before heading to a Friday Night Lights affair at table-topping Richmond on April 4 (7.45pm).
