Biography

Having played for England through the age groups and Under 20s, Phil enjoyed spells with Northampton Saints, Bedford Blues and Doncaster Knights before playing for Rams in the 2017/18 season.

His transition into coaching/strength & conditioning began at Hartpury College, before he earned Masters degrees from Southampton University and Solent.

He has been involved at Reading Blue Coat School since 2019 and is now Head of Long Term Athletic Development.

Became Rams’ Head of S&C in June, 2025.
