TOP TRY-SCORERS AT THE END OF JANUARY

CAPTAIN Max Hayman pulled three clear at the top of the seasonal try-scoring standings following a productive January.

The hooker touched down against Tonbridge Juddians, Leeds Tykes and Birmingham Moseley.

Morgan MacRae (10) remains second in the list, while Zach Clow matched Hayman’s efforts at the start of 2026 to take his tally to nine.

Awesome Axel’s sublime hat-trick

The third player to bag three in January was Axel Kalling-Smith, whose stunning hat-trick versus Tykes moved him onto eight.

Fellow wing Oli Rhoads is level after crossing against Sale, his efforts hindered by a shoulder injury in the following game.

Another speedster, Luke Graham, also went down at TJs as he stays on five scores for the campaign.

No. 8 Willo Bicknell crossed in Kent and Birmingham to climb to four in his debut season at Level Three, the same number of penalty tries Rams have recorded to date.

Harry Stone’s Leeds effort drew the versatile forward level with Charlie Robson on three, while Mikey Duda dotted down against Sale and TJs at the start of the month.

Rowan Grundy’s try at Birmingham means he also has two to his name, along with loanee Bath wing Henry Bartlett.

Baker bags first of the season

And the final player to cross last month was record-breaker James Baker, who collected his 50th career score to complete the comeback at Tonbridge.

He was the 21st different Ram to go over this term.

The others completing the list are Ben Atkins, Pete Austin, Liam Elston, Paddy Harris, Ellis Jones, Ryan Lomas, Louis Pereira and Connor Stapley.

All this means the Berkshire side have now scored 81 tries in 18, with an average of 4.5 a smidgen down on the 118 in 26 during the 2024/25 campaign (4.54).

The current try split between forwards, including three penalty tries, and backs (one), currently stands at 32-49.
