TEAM NEWS: TEENAGER JACKSON SET FOR FIRST START

TEENAGE second row Paddy Jackson will make his first National One start as Rams host Leeds Tykes tomorrow (3pm).

The former Millfield School ace, who arrived at Old Bath Road last summer following a spell in Stellenbosch, South Africa, previously came off the bench at Leicester Lions and Dings Crusaders.

But his stellar form for both the Development and Under 23 sides sees him form a youthful engine room alongside one of the finds of the campaign to date, Liam Elston.

There are three other personnel changes to the starting line-up for the hosts, alongside five positional, with loose-head prop Ant Marris returning at loose-head prop in the pack.

He is joined at the head of the scrum by hooker Max Hayman and Ryan Lomas.

Harry Stone switches to blind-side flanker to form a back row featuring fellow 21-year-old Mikey Duda and National One Player of the Week, No. 8 Willo Bicknell.

Cooke and Grundy return

Mike Cooke is restored at stand-off following a fine display as an early substitute in the brilliant 35-33 comeback success at Tonbridge Juddians, with Ollie Hodgson inside him at scrum-half.

The other returnee among the three-quarters is fit-again Rowan Grundy at inside centre.

First-half injuries to wings Oli Rhoads and Luke Graham mean four versatile starters from last week all line-up in different positions for the arrival of Tykes.

They are Andrew Lamb (10 to 15), Ellis Jones (13 from 12), Axel Kalling-Smith (13 now 11) and Zach Clow, who completes the side having swapped full-back for the right wing.

Rams name power-packed bench

Props Max Marshall and James Baker made a sizable impact off the bench at TJs, with further power offered by Harris who is also capable of playing hooker.

Experienced scrum-half Ed Hoadley was magnificent in helping mastermind the come-from-behind triumph at Tonbridge, and he will look to again add a mix of control and impetus when called upon.

Rounding out the matchday squad is 10-try Morgan MacRae, who opened the scoring in the corresponding fixture at Leeds back in November.

Another flexible player, the former hooker has converted to centre this term though retains the ability to cover the back row as well.

Army captain Pete Austin is the travelling reserve in case of any more unfortunate late injury hiccups.
