The powerful wing opened and closed the scoring, with his second providing some hope of a comeback on 58 minutes, albeit it was not enough to prevent a reverse at Old Bath Road.
Connor Hayhow was the first to bag a Level Three treble for the club, helping Seb Reynolds’ side to a 26-19 success at Rotherham Titans back in November 2019.
The versatile three-quarter followed up upon the Covid break with a brilliant effort in a 41-27 home triumph versus Plymouth in January, 2022, perhaps the most famous hat-trick of all coming two months later when captain fantastic Robbie Stapley did the job against Chinnor.
Robbie’s remarkable evening
Having become a dad for the second time earlier in the day, Robbie celebrated Arlo’s arrival by inspiring his side to a 38-22 Friday Night Lights triumph which saw him on the front page of The Wokingham Paper and also on BBC Radio Berkshire’s Breakfast programme.

Hayhow made it three with another terrific effort in the 45-7 victory against Cambridge to end the 2021/22 campaign, before Jak Rossiter became the third Ram to take home the match ball three games into the following season.
The club’s third highest try-scorer picked up four in a 59-26 success against Hull, with Hayhow remarkably grabbing a fourth as Rams beat Darlington Mowden Park 40-15 the following month.

Rossiter and Hayman double up
Max Hayman became the fourth player to join the treble list when he dotted down three times at Birmingham Moseley in a 24-21 win in February, 2023, Rossiter adding a second to his tally in a 52-24 victory at home to Leeds Tykes in March.

Hayman matched Rossiter’s effort in a 41-36 reverse against Darlington Mowden Park in November, and repeated the trick in his first game as skipper against the same opposition at the start of the 2024/25 campaign.

In his final home game before retirement James McRae penned his name as the fifth National One hat-trick hero in a wild 47-40 success against Rosslyn Park back in April, with Rhoads now taking the club to a half dozen following his efforts last Saturday.
