LOAN WATCH: LAMB AND MACRAE TOUCH DOWN FOR HAWKS

ANDREW Lamb acored on his Henley Hawks debut, but the Oxfordshire side slipped to a heartbreaking 36-32 National Two East setback at London Welsh.

Having fallen 10-0 down at Old Deer Park, Morgan MacRae’s first try was converted by Max Titchener before another seven-pointer had the visitors in front.

Welsh regained the lead before the break, but two penalties and Lamb’s effort pushed Henley 27-15 in front.

The hosts cut the gap to five, but Macrae had Hawks firmly in command with a brilliant finish.

Yet their opponents struck twice in the final five minutes to snatch the win.

Mixed results for other loanees

Harry Bicknell, barring a yellow card, and Max Brown played the full 80 minutes for Oxford Harlequins in their 61-19 defeat at Sevenoaks.

James Gilman started at inside centre as Maidenhead secured a thrilling 34-33 triumph at Hammersmith & Fulham in Regional One South Central.

Victory lifted the east Berkshire side out of the bottom three.

Full-back Theo Pett-Ridge scored two tries and provided an assist as Maidenhead 2nd XV were edged out 17-15 at Milton Keynes in Counties Two Tribute Berks, Bucks & Oxon East.
