Recent Form:

Exceptional.

Having been promoted as National Two North champions, Rotherham have continued their stunning run to record 18 wins from 22 games to sit second – five points behind table-topping recently.

Last weekend they bounced back from a rare defeat at Plymouth Albion (23-20) with a 39-28 derby success against Sedgley Park, a success which made it eight in nine games.

Their seven-match winning streak came against Birmingham Moseley (28-27), Esher (68-34 having trailed 31-7), Bishop’s Stortford (17-11), Leicester Lions (24-7), Dings Crusaders (45-26), Sale (23-17) and Darlington Mowden Park (29-14).

Titans lost 31-29 to the final play at Richmond, but beforehand had won 10 of their opening 12 fixtures including five prior – Blackheath (15-12), Rams (21-14), Sedgley (35-30), Plymouth (18-17) and Birmingham (30-19).

The only defeat in which Rotherham failed to pick up a losing bonus-point – they still scored five tries – came in a sole home blip versus Stortford (45-34) in Week Seven.

The Yorkshiremen had previously defeated Lions (34-17) and Dings (45-19) after losing to another last-gasp effort at Sale (21-17), opening up with a trio of success versus Esher (48-19), DMP (45-28) and Rosslyn Park (31-21).

Including last season when they lost just once as champions, and having won their last six in 2022/23, Titans have been victorious in 49 of their last 54 matches.

Players to Watch:

Zak Poole – Captain fantastic became Rotherham’s all-time top try-scorer when grabbing his 51st against Esher recently.

Representative honours include England Counties Under 20s and Yorkshire.

JB Bruzulier – Scrum-half has proved a shrewd addition since joining from Cornish Pirates in the summer of 2023.

Has missed only one game in past two seasons, racking up 13 tries in 47 caps (eight this term), and has a high-class CV having spent almost a decade in The Championship with Hartpury College, Pirates, Yorkshire Carnegie and Worcester Warriors – with whom he earned promotion in 2015.

Has also played for Wales 7s.

Lloyd Hayes – Outside centre, who can also play fly-half, looks set to be top points-scorer in his division for the time time on the spin having already totted up 270 to date (eight tries, 64 conversions, 34 penalties).

Last season he amassed 327, smashing Juan Pablo Socino’s club record, and is closing in 1,000 for Titans despite spending time at Doncaster Knights in between two spells at Clifton Lane.
