Recent form:
Stortford left themselves a mountain to climb after falling 42-6 down to Rosslyn Park at half-time last weekend.
But they managed to grab a try bonus-point before ultimately going down 61-30 at Silver Leys.
Stortford started with a thrilling 52-42 home success versus Dings Crusaders in Round One.
Pre-season results were mixed with a 48-31 reverse at Dorking following a 27-19 away triumph at Welsh Premiership champions Merthyr.
Players to watch:
James Apperley – Outstanding back row came through the junior ranks and has racked up more than 150 appearances.
Home man-of-the-match against Rosslyn Park last time out and was also star man against Rams in home game versus Rams on his 100th appearance (October 2021).
Tom Mills – Wing/centre has scored on his past two visits to Old Bath Road and is in red-hot form with four tries in opening two games.
Also banged over a long-range penalty in the 34-25 triumph in February 2025.
Tom Hitchcock – Former Stortford Mini was The Rugby Paper’s inside centre in their Team of the Season last term.
A class act who arguably turned the Hertfordshire side’s campaign last term – they won 12 from 18 when he was fit (scoring nine tries) – he got off the mark with a pearler against Dings two weeks ago.
Previously played for London Irish, Ealing, Coventry and Richmond – scoring against Rams in December 2023.
