A MIXED Colts side were again in top form as they won 64-19 at Marlborough.
Playing down the slope in the first half, Rams crossed twice inside six minutes, Ant Jessett from the back of a scrum before Jake Scott dotted down following a series of phases.
Mat Cox added to the latter, but the hosts came into the contest and cut the deficit on 15 minutes with an unconverted try.
However, Rams took control as Cox was on target following Luke Thorpe’s try, Henry Cook (pictured on left) then over for 24-5.
A brilliant break from inside his own 22 saw Dan Sawyer send Jordan Navetta across the whitewash soon after, a sensational solo Aaron Lamb try following soon after.
Two more Cox kicks made it 38-5 at the interval, and he landed another after debutant wing JJ McCarthy went over early in the second period.
Thorpe and man-of-the-match Cook both doubled their tallies with another conversion extending the visitors’ advantage to 57-5, but gallant Marlborough kept coming and bagged a brace of seven-pointers.
Rams, however, had the final word, a converted Navetta second rounding out the scoring in a game played in terrific spirit.
The Under 16s – who travel to Windsor today – sent two teams to Wallingford for the Oxfordshire Sevens, silverware claimed after beating Chinnor in the final of the cup.
There was also success for the U15 Reds at the same venue as they gained revenge for a group defeat to Gosford All Blacks by beating their earlier conquerors in the title decider.
The U14s went down to Maiden Erlegh 41-12 under the Friday Night Lights before overcoming Tadley 45-12 on Sunday, the age group now sending two sides to Farnham.
There was double delight for the U13s who beat Marlborough six tries to four while also triumphing 5-4 on the road at Beaconsfield.
They host two teams from North Dorset this morning (10am).
