Rich Ashton16 Feb - 08:25

Under 16s, 15s and 14s also pick up victories as Senior Squad coach the Minis!

A CONTROLLED forwards performance helped the Colts make it a fabulous five OBB Division One bonus-point victories from five as they toppled previously unbeaten hosts Amersham & Chiltern 24-0.

Jake Scott made it four tries in two games while Cian Tappan ran in from 30 metres following a tap-and-go as Obi Nwachuku and Teagan Strydon completed the scoring, Matt Cox with a couple of conversions.

In Division Two, the Extra As bagged a hard-fought 26-24 home triumph against Beaconsfield, Charlie Fuller enjoying a memorable afternoon as he crossed on what was likely his last Old Bath Road appearance.

Having joined Rams as an Under 10, Charlie is due to take a spot with the Army in a few weeks but dotted down before the break – Dan Sawyer and Ben Parsons setting-up the score – with Dan Barclay also going over for a 12-12 interval stalemate.

However, Sawyer bagged a quick-fire brace as the Extras raced out of the blocks in the second half, Parsons adding another conversion for 26-12, and while Beaconsfield rallied, the hosts held on for a fine success.

A mixed Colts side host Wimbledon this afternoon (1pm).

The U16s won 29-12 at Bracknell as the U15s – who host Old Guildfordians at Berkshire Shire Hall (1pm) and travel to Grove – picked up 57-12 and 21-12 victories against Wallingford and Bracknell respectively.

The U14s enjoyed a terrific day as they claimed wins in a pair of Berkshire finals, downing Reading 17-0 in the Bowl and Maidenhead 24-22 in the Development Cup – overturning a 19-5 half-time deficit to take the silverware in the latter.

An injury-ravaged U13s squad went down to defeat against Marlow (seven tries to four) and Banbury (11-4) ahead of a home game versus Farnham (1.15pm).

Meanwhile, the Minis enjoyed a fabulous morning being coached by plenty of the first team squad, the U11s also taking on Basingstoke in a fun encounter.
