
A simply sensational team effort began with Harry Stone’s strong carry, Mikey Duda then breaking a tackle with a powerful charge before off-loading to scrum-half Ollie Hodgson.
He fed Hayman who in turn freed MacRae, enjoying life in his new role at inside centre, and the powerful ex-Wales Sevens ace blasted his way some 70 metres downfield before falling midway inside the Dings’ 22.
Yet Rams kept their calm before Hayman regained the ball, the skipper producing a moment of magic as he threaded a wonderful grubber kick behind the visitors’ defence before diving on it in the left-hand corner.
