TOP TRY-SCORERS AT THE END OF DECEMBER

SEVEN Rams players scored their first tries of the season as the team crossed 16 times in just three December fixtures.

Second row Liam Elston got the ball rolling with his sensational effort at home to Rotherham Titans, and the further first-timers mean 19 different Rams have touched down this term.

Captain Max Hayman’s double in the 31-25 setback at Dings Crusaders mean he is now joint-top marksmen with Morgan MacRae, the pair on 10 – although the latter also has two while on loan for Henley at London Welsh a fortnight ago.

Clow and Rhoads add two more apiece

Meanwhile, back three duo Zach Clow – who was National One Player of the Week following a sensational display in the 40-29 victory at Rosslyn Park – and Oli Rhoads are both up to six.

They sit level third in the standings after touching down in London and in the 35-31 Rotherham reverse.

Axel Kalling-Smith went over in the latter for his fifth of the campaign, while penalty try remains on four.

Charlie Robson scored three in six games during his third stint at Old Bath Road, while Harry Stone’s try in the home game with Titans saw him draw level on two with Willo Bicknell.

Bartlett begins with a bang

Loanee Bath wing Henry Bartlett is on the same number after crossing in his two starts opposite Rosslyn and Dings.

Opening the scoring at The Rock was Paddy Harris, his maiden try for the club coming on his 57th appearance, with Rowan Grundy, Connor Stapley and Bartlett also bagging their first of the campaign in London.

And the hot streak for players looking to get off an end-of-season forfeit continued at Dings, where Ryan Lomas and Ellis Jones went over for the first time this term.

It means Rams have now scored 64 tries in 14 games so far this season, with an average of 4.57 marginally up on the 118 in 26 during the 2024/25 campaign (4.54).

The current try split between forwards, including three penalty tries, and backs (one), currently stands at 23-41.
