OLLIE Cole, Oli Rhoads, Jasper Spandler and Jake Murray opened their try-scoring accounts for the season as the number of players to cross the whitewash for Rams this term climbed to 23 following Saturday’s narrow defeat at Sale.
Captain Max Hayman remains atop the standings with 11 this term, but his lead has been cut to one with Zach Clow moving into double figures on the back of scores against Dings Crusaders and Sale.
His fellow wing Tomek Pozniak bagged the first tries of 2025 with a five-minute double against Dings, the Polish ace now up to eight and one ahead of Axel Kalling-Smith – a scorer in the same game – and Morgan MacRae, who dotted down at Sale.
The club’s all-time first-team record league try-scorer, Robbie Stapley, remains on six while another back row, Tom Vooght, is up to four following his effort at Leicester Lions.
Army man Solodrau Radianirova grabbed the final score at Sale to take his seasonal tally to three, while Andrew Lamb doubled his tally with the opener and sits alongside Ben Atkins, Nile Dacres, Ryan Lomas, Penalty Try and Dan Swain.
The Leicester game remarkably saw three first-time scorers in the form of debutant Spandler, Rhoads and Murray, while Cole collected his maiden try of the season at Sale.
The quartet are joined by Mikey Duda, Ioan Emanuel, Luke Graham, Rowan Grundy, James McRae and Olise Monye with one to their name during the campaign.
The 13 tries in December leave the Berkshire men with 78 in their 17 games to date – an average of 4.59 per game.
The forwards/backs split stands at 42-36 (including two penalty tries for the pack) after the opening half of the season, with scores coming right across the park.
