COLTS’ two-time title-winning captain Aaron Preston is among a host of players to have enjoyed silverware named in Rams’ Returning Students’ squad for tonight’s floodlit home game with long-standing rivals Chinnor (7.30pm).

The back row is named on a powerful bench also including fellow current Colts Dan Sawyer and Ant Jessett, with the starting line-up led from the front by the in-form Harrison Stanners – who scored four tries for The Horde against Phoenix 2nd XV last month – hooker Josh Jones and Ed Marsden.

Alex Pitfield and Stephen Webber are paired in the engine room, with Nic Jessett, open-side flanker Jack Rushton and dynamic No. 8 Josh Grahame completing the pack.

Fin Ivory starts at scrum-half with Cam George – the match-winner in the famous December 2022 clash between the two sides – outside him, Berkshire Under 20s man Theo Pett-Ridge and Cardiff University ace Patrick Brown linking up in midfield.

There is plenty of pace among the back three as Seb Rushton, who played with brother Jack and dad Phil in The Horde’s final game against Egham Hollowegians, takes the left wing slot, Alfie Jeanes on the other side of the pitch as Ollie Whattam rounds out the side at full-back.

Joining Preston, Sawyer and Jessett Jr. among the substitutes are Will Smithen, Joe Barrett and Ollie Cullum, the latter a regular for the Centaurs during their Counties Two Tribute Berks, Bucks & Oxon Two South runners-up finish.

Tom David and Callum du Preez have both crossed the whitewash in senior rugby this term, with the squad finished off by James Barker-Lopez and Jarvis Wood as Rams look to snap a three-match losing run in the long-standing fixture.
