Rams change four for visit of The Dogs!

TIGHT-HEAD prop Liam Bishop is set for his Rams’ starting debut as one of four changes for tomorrow’s National One visit of Sale (3pm).

The former Ireland Under 20 endured an injury-ravaged debut campaign at Old Bath Road, but having come off the bench at Esher last time out, now gets the nod for the top-of-the-table clash.

Bishop is joined by captain Max Hayman and Ant Marris in the front row, while behind them, Dan Swain is the second change as he partners Nile Dacres for the first time this term.

An unchanged back row of James McRae, Tom Vooght and Robbie Stapley provides a fulcrum added to by half-backs Ed Hoadley and Fraser Honey, the third alteration to the starting line-up coming with fit-again Rowan Grundy back in at No. 12.

He is partnered in midfield by Swedish ace Axel Kalling-Smith, while fellow international, Pole Tomek Pozniak, starts on the left wing following his double at Esher last time out.

The final change to the starting XV comes on the other flank, Bath loanee Luke Graham stepping up from the bench as Zach Clow completes the side at full back.

Having overcome a sickness bug last week James Baker can add to his record first-team league appearance record as he heads for a remarkable 418th, Paddy Harris providing cover on the opposite side of the scrum.

Substitute hooker Morgan MacRae has enjoyed a sensational start to life at Rams with four tries in two games as a back row replacement, and he will be looking to add to that tally in his early-season battle for top try-scorer with skipper Hayman.

Among the three-quarters, Ollie Cole is included as scrum-half cover for the first time this term, while Drew Humberstone has played in almost every slot across the back line during his eight seasons at the club.

Four travelling reserves are named in the form of prop Ryan Lomas, second or back row Harry Stone, wing Jack Rampton and the versatile Andrew Lamb.
