LOOSEHEAD prop Tarek Haffar has been named the National One Player of the Week following his outstanding man-of-the-match display in Saturday’s 17-13 victory at table-topping Rosslyn Park.

Rams became the first visiting side to beat the league leaders at The Rock since October 2019, ending Park’s 19-match unbeaten run as Tarek led from the front.

The London Irish loanee – making just his third first-team start for Rams having impressed in the Titans victories against Taunton 2nd XV and Richmond Saxons in the fortnight before – was part of a dominant scrum which eventually earned a penalty try and was also all over the pitch in both attack and defence.

He made numerous strong carries and put in a series of crucial tackles in an all-action display, becoming the second Rams player to collect the gong this year following hooker Max Hayman for his efforts in the triumph at Tonbridge Juddians back at the start of January.

After back-to-back away wins at Birmingham Moseley and Park, Rams return to Old Bath Road this Saturday as they host in-form Bishop’s Stortford.
