Players to Watch:

Ratu Vakalutukali – Fijian back row is a legend at Veritas Park with 187 appearances and more than 300 points for the Somerset outfit.

Moved to England to join the Marines and having been stationed in Taunton, has stayed with the club ever since joining, scoring a try for the Royal Navy at Twickenham in May in their victory against The British Army.

As consistent as ever last term, ‘Toots’ grabbed eight tries in 25 National Two West matches.

Charlie Wright – Another outstanding back row player who received National One Team of the Season selection by both the league website and The Rugby Paper during his side’s three-year stint at Level Three, the former Exeter Chief is one cap away from reaching three figures.

A prolific try-scorer, he has more 66 competitive tries for his side at a phenomenal rate – (13 in 24 games in 2024/25).

Drew Humberstone – One of the great recent Rams, versatile Drew was primarily an inside centre but also excelled at fly-half and full-back (and occasionally at flanker following a yellow card!)

Switched to Old Bath Road from Hull Ionians before the 2018/19 campaign and helped the club win promotion to National One for the first time, then inspiring a runners-up spot in the debut season at Level Three.

A regular iron man who rarely missed a game – at one stage playing 68 in a row before Covid ruled him out at Birmingham Moseley in February, 2022 – Drew racked up 126 appearances for Rams and crossed the whitewash 19 times as well as banging over 168 points from the tee, his tally of 263 leaving him among the top 30 in the club’s first-team league history.

After moving on loan to Veritas Park following a job relocation post-Christmas, Drew scored two tries in 11 matches before making a full-time switch to Taunton.
