Recent Form:

Club went down 32-19 in a surprise, injury-hit reverse at Birmingham Moseley last time out, but the pre-season title-nominees had started almost perfectly beforehand.

A more eye-catching display saw Tonbridge Juddians mauled 40-0 in Week Five, Blackheath having won 36-31 at Dings Crusaders seven days before.

Club were edged out 31-27 by current table-toppers Rosslyn Park for a first defeat of the campaign in Round Four, Tom Everard’s men having started the campaign in scintillating form with victories at Leicester Lions (47-12), versus Bishop’s Stortford (33-31) and on the road at Clifton (34-17).

Club were ruthless in the latter parts of pre-season, smashing Canterbury 47-0 and taking out Championship side Richmond 33-14 having pushed Bedford Blues 54-35 in their first fixture.

Players to Watch:

Billy Harding – Hooker and club captain has enjoyed an incredible start to the season, benefitting from a ferocious rolling maul to rack up 12 tries in just seven games – including hat-tricks against Bishop’s Stortford and Dings Crusaders.

Former Wasps, Ampthill, Coventry and Rosslyn Park ace reached 50 caps for Club last week, and with 19 tries last season, has a fine haul of 37 in his half-century of Blackheath appearances so far.

Sam Morley – Classy fly-half joined from Esher in the summer and is a proven top-level performer – having been named in The Rugby Paper and National One Team of the Season despite his former side being relegated at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The former England Under 20s and Exeter Chief scored a debut try at Clifton on the opening day.

Ed Dunford – Joint-top Blackheath point-scorer so far with 60 to his name, the former Wales youth international has knocked over 20 conversions and five penalties along with a try at home to Tonbridge Juddians two weeks ago.

Was a stand-out player for Aberavon in the pre-season game with Rams in August 2024.
