Moseley have endured a tricky start to the season, most recently beaten 31-17 at Tonbridge Juddians.

Prior to that they went down 34-19 at home to Dings Crusaders and 47-24 at unbeaten Rosslyn Park, although they were well in the hunt heading into the final quarter in all three games.

Adam Balding’s men produced a sensational second-half display to overturn a 21-9 deficit against Leicester Lions into a 49-21 victory in Round Two, Mose having gone down 26-12 on the opening day.

In pre-season Birmingham beat Welsh sides Carmarthen Wanderers and Pontypool 45-19 and 36-19 respectively.

Players to Watch:

Will Safe – Former Gloucester and Hartpury University back row joined Moseley as National One rugby returned after Covid for the 2021/22 season.

Suffered injury issues in first two campaigns but has proved consistent since then, racking up 11 tries in 65 appearances for the Midlanders.

Ollie Stedman – Talismanic captain bagged a hat-trick at Tonbridge Juddians last weekend to make it four in two games since his seasonal reappearance at Dings Crusaders.

Played in the Premiership for London Welsh before a decade of Championship action at the likes of Newcastle Falcons, Doncaster Knights, Yorkshire Carnegie, Ealing Trailfinders and Bedford Blues.

In three-and-a-bit seasons at Moseley, the No. 8 has amassed 28 tries in 67 games.

Aquile Smith – Versatile back has been a persistent pain for Rams, scoring on his 100th appearance in the 19-0 victory at Billesley Common last February.

Has 50 tries in 112 games for Birmingham and has played wing, centre and full back in his three games this term.
