The former Clifton ace arrives on the back of 19 appearances at Level Three, which included a try against Rams.
With the Bristolians relegated, the ex-Scotland Under 18 has made the move up the M4 with big hopes for a charge at the other end of the table.
He explained: “Last year I played almost every game after joining Clifton and felt I contributed – but I want to kick on.
“(Director of Rugby) Seb Reynolds) got in touch with me as I guess I caught his eye playing for Clifton.
“And when a club as big as Rams comes along, you’re always going to be interested.
“It was a no-brainer, and I want to further establish myself after a first spell in National One.
“Rams is the perfect place to do so.”
Flanker looking to bring energy
Weighing 113kg and standing 6ft 4in, Ollie has a physical presence which he aims to unleash.
He continued: “I pride myself as quite a destructive ball carrier, but also providing energy all round the park.
“I like to get off the defensive line quickly to make tackles and hunt down the opposition.
“I’m really looking forward to getting out there. I know how competitive the back row has always been at Rams, and I want to add to that.”
Ollie’s rugby journey started as a five-year-old at Hammersmith & Fulham, but it was clear from an early age he had talent.
He joined the London Irish Development programme from Under 11s, and swapped Fulham Boys School for Harrow after earning a sixth-form scholarship.
Impressive BUCS career
Irish’s Senior Academy came before Cardiff University, Ollie racking up almost 50 Bucs Super Rugby Premiership appearances while studying human geography & planning.
Turning 22 a couple of days ago, the pensions consultant for Legal & General added: “I had a great time at Cardiff.
“It’s a wonderful city and I enjoyed a great balance between my course and the rugby.”
Ollie’s hobbies include outdoor sports such as cycling, while he is also a fond chef.
And with less than two weeks before the opening home pre-season game with his former club, Ollie is eager to get going.
He ended: “I’m very excited to hopefully get that first chance to run out at Old Bath Road.
“I’m told even for pre-season the crowds are good and it will be nice to have them on my side this time!”
