SALE FC moved top of the nascent National One table with a thumping 66-35 home win against Birmingham Moseley.
The visitors took an early lead as Harry Read converted an Ethan Priest score, but a David Opoku-Fordjour brace and further tries from Mark Dixon, Josh Brown and Joe Green put The Dogs in command.
James Mitchell converted all five for 35-7, although Fin Smith and Read’s boot narrowed the gap before the interval.
A Will Safe seven-pointer gave Mose further hope, but Osian Roberts and Tom Walsh dotted down for the hosts.
Converted tries from Ben Pogson and Ardal Yallop made it a 10-point game, but Sale pulled clear late on.
Former Ram Andrew Lamb scored twice and Walsh doubled up, Green slotting three kicks to complete the scoring.
Plymouth and TJs go two from two
Plymouth Albion recorded a second straight statement away win with a 32-21 derby success at Camborne.
The Janners led 20-0 at half-time following a Iwan Jenkins penalty and conversion, plus tries from Cameron Doak, Noah Fenton and Harry Wilkinson.
Fenton’s second extended the lead before Town got on the board with a Ben Priddey effort, Ollie Roberts converting.
Harry Legg added to Wilkinson’s second to make the game safe for Plymouth, but the hosts grabbed two converted late consolations through Jordan Nicholls and Sam Matavesi.
Tonbridge Juddians are the other team with a perfect record following a thrilling 39-38 triumph at London Scottish.
Connor Lloyd converted a Jack Walsh try to put TJs in front, but their opponents levelled through Joe Harmen and Oscar Yandall.
A Lucas Brooke seven-pointer and Lloyd penalty made it 17-7 at the interval, Walsh’s second score pushing the visitors further clear.
Scottish rallied, however, Jonny Law, Harmen and Jonny Smith touching down as two Yandall kicks put his side four points up.
Steffan James added to a Sam Morton-Smith effort to edge TJs back in front, only for Patrick Beattie to make it 31-29.
But James landed a penalty and Lloyd slotted after Morton-Smith’s second, meaning a Will Rigelsford seven-pointer was not enough for Exiles.
Maiden wins for Sheffield and BSE
Sheffield picked up their maiden National One victory with a 19-12 home Yorkshire derby success versus Leeds Tykes.
A Cuchulain Livingstone try put the hosts in front before George Worthington equalised.
But Callum Posa landed after Will Archer and Christian Hooper crossed either side of half-time for Sheffield.
A late Seramaia Turagabeci Bai try and Jack Hamilton conversion snatched a losing bonus-point for Leeds.
Bury St Edmunds matched Sheffield’s milestone as they won 38-31 at Cambridge.
Dylan Coetzee put the visitors ahead, Ben Penfold with the extras.
Cambridge responded as Luke Bouchier converted Ben Alexander and Jacob McCay tries, but Bury pulled back to 14-14 after a long spell of pressure.
The hosts, though, regained the lead as Bouchier made it three from three following Ted Warner’s score.
Penfold kicked a penalty, but Alexander’s second made it 26-17 at half-time.
BSE took command, though, Penfold on target as Euan Rees and Ruaridh Williams dotted down.
Another seven-pointer pushed them 12 points ahead, meaning Eli Caven’s try was only a consolation for the Blood & Sand.
Rosslyn rebound at Stortford
Rosslyn Park eased to a first win of the campaign with a 61-30 rout of Bishop’s Stortford.
A Dan Cole penalty put the home side in front, but Luc Smith converted a Ewan Fenley try for Park.
Cole landed a second kick, but Park were 42-6 up at the break as Luke Mehson doubled up and Fred Davies, Smith and James Cordy-Redden crossed. Smith made it six from six from the tee.
Stortford, however, refused to yield and scored 24 unanswered points of their own through tries from Tom Hitchcock, Tom Mills (two) and Alex Osborn, plus two David Hayes conversions.
But Park regrouped and put the game to bed with Mehson completing his hat-trick, Archie Hosking grabbing two and Smith slotting a pair of kicks.
Rams, meanwhile, drew 24-24 with Dings Crusaders.
