NATIONAL ONE ROUND-UP: PRE-SEASON WEEK TWO

WHILE Rams went down 52-29 at Aberavon in their final pre-season game, there was plenty of action elsewhere from our National One rivals.

Rosslyn Park continued their fine pre-season with a 34-19 home success against London Scottish.

They fell 12-0 down inside the opening quarter, Max Rivers with the second try.

Park levelled thanks to tries from Fred Davies and Ewan Fenley, though, Freddie Vaughan converting the second.

And Charlie Coe had the hosts in front at the interval, only for Scottish to move 19-17 up early in the second period.

Rosslyn, however, took the spoils with Luke Mehson, Sam Kennaugh and Max Winter crossing in the final 10 minutes, the latter with a final conversion to complete the scoring.

Plymouth Albion impressed despite losing 35-21 at home to Cornish Pirates.

Harry Wilkinson and Morgan Eames crossed to give Albion the lead, Iwan Jenkins converting both.

But it was 14-14 at the break as Arwel Robson added to his own try and one from Henry Palmer.

The latter completed a hat-trick and with Gus Mawson also adding a seven-pointer, Huw Taylor’s converted late effort proved merely a consolation for Plymouth.

Dogs go try crazy

Sale FC trounced Heath 83-14 at Heywood Road, while Bishop’s Stortford went down 48-31 at Dorking.

Ben Morrow, Jake Morris and Dan Cole were among the visiting try-scorers as they built up a 26-22 lead, only for Dorking to rally.

Tim Andrew bagged a brace and Ben Sams, Billy Reid and Ewan Rees also touched down for Bury St Edmunds in their 38-12 home victory versus Westcombe Park.

Camborne hosted a five-team tournament also featuring Hartpury, St Austell, Truro and Penryn.

Cuchulain Livingstone doubled up and Elliott Fisher, Brayton Taylor and Maine Bunting also crossed the whitewash as Sheffield lost 36-27 to Sedgley Park.

Callum Posa added a conversion.

Ted Warner scored Cambridge’s try in their 84-5 loss to Bedford Blues.
