Rich Ashton9 Feb 2021 - 16:55

Big wins against Worthing, London Irish Wild Geese, Old Pats, Broadstreet and Portsmouth!

Worthing 7-53 Rams (March 23, 2019)

Rams turned on the style to run in nine tries and rack up a half century for the third time in the season with a dominant display at Worthing.

It took Ellis Jones just two minutes to open the scoring before Andrew Denham and Greg Illingworth also crossed inside the opening quarter-of-an-hour, Alex Seers adding a conversion to make it 17-0.

The bonus-point was added before the half-hour as Denham grabbed his second, Seers adding the extras, and a Jamie Guttridge try made it 29-0 at the interval.

Ben Henderson extended the lead on the hour mark before Worthing hit back with a converted Curtis Barnes score shortly after, only for Rams to turn the screw in the final 15 minutes with Craig Nightingale and Tom Vooght both going over and their powerful forwards also securing a penalty try.

Rams 44-16 London Irish Wild Geese (September 9, 2017)

The hosts’ power came to the fore as they brushed aside Wild Geese to make up for an opening-day defeat to Henley the week before.

A sixth-minute penalty try put Rams in front, although Peter Hodgkinson cut the gap with a penalty shortly after.

Tom Humberstone and the Irish fly-half exchanged penalties before Andy Berry’s debut try made it 15-6 to the hosts.

However, Hodgkinson converted his own score to cut the gap to two at the break, and after he and Humberstone had both added a penalty apiece, the score was 18-16 with half an hour remaining.

Rams took control, though, with a second penalty try giving them breathing space before Humberstone converted scores from Tom Vooght and Greg Illingworth.

And Joe Duffelen had the final say when he dotted down in the last 10 minutes to add some extra gloss to the score-line.

Rams 45-15 Old Patesians (September 17, 2011)

Robbie Stapley, Andy Amor, Shaun Brown, Aaron Hopkins, Jevon Marsh, Dom Gosling and Jez Flynn all crossed the whitewash and Brown landed five conversions to complete a comfortable victory.

Broadstreet 7-53 Rams (August 27, 2011)

Seb Reynolds scored a brilliant hat-trick as Rams geared up for what would ultimately be their most successful National Three South West season to date with a nine-try pre-season friendly success.

Joao Costa also bagged a brace and Will Clarke, Jez Flynn, Azza Hopkins and James Baker also dotted down, with Shaun Brown (three conversions) and Clarke (one) completing the scoring.

Portsmouth 10-50 Rams (August 21, 2010)

Rams geared up for the season with a 50-10 thrashing of hosts Portsmouth in a pre-season friendly.

Seb Reynolds and Robbie Stapley both crossed twice and Jez Flynn, Simon Parfitt, Torres and Peter Freeth also touched down in an eight-try cruise, Shaun Brown adding the extras five times.

Windsor 50-10 Rams (December 9, 1972)

Gareth Rees and Reeve scored tries for Rams, and Bachelor knocked over a conversion, but they were thumped at Windsor.

Rams 57-3 RAF Yatesbury (September 20, 1952)

The visitors were no match for ORs and the home side ran in 15 tries to rout the airmen.

Larkinson crossed four times and Peter Mundy three, with Bacon bagging a brace and Ray Fullbrook, T Easby, and Allen among the other try-scorers.

Steward (four conversions) and Fullbrook (two) completed the scoring in a one-sided contest.
