The 6ft former Exeter University BUCS Super Rugby title winner is a strong ball carrier with fine hands.
The 28-year-old weighs in at 96kg.
Matt first picked up a ball at the relatively late age of 13 at Helston RFC in his native Cornwall.
But he was like a duck to water and quickly progressed into the Exeter Chiefs programme while at Truro College.
He then studied human bioscience at Exeter University, before playing for Camborne.
Matt then joined the British Army, and has been playing for Highland RFC while posted in Inverness, Scotland for the past couple of years.
He earned his first full Army cap in their 38-31 victory against Royal Air Force in May 2025.
And he started both Inter-Services Championship games at full back earlier this year, including against Royal Navy at Twickenham.
