BICKNELL, LOMAS AND RHOADS RETURN FOR NEW CAMPAIGN

TWO end-of-season award winners and a hat-trick hero have committed to Rams for the 2026/27 campaign.

Willo Bicknell

Players’ Player of the Year Willo enjoyed a fabulous first term at Old Bath Road after making the move from Oxford Harlequins.

The Zambian ace missed only one game all season and racked up 10 tries in 25 outings.

His first came in the 73-24 home victory against Dings Crusaders, while he bagged his first treble in the final-day success against Sedgley Park.

Willo’s other tries came at Sale, Tonbridge Juddians, Birmingham Moseley and Plymouth Albion, while he touched down in home games with Bishop’s Stortford and Leicester Lions.

The No. 8 was National One Player of the Week following the 35-33 win at TJs.

And he also captained the side for the final four games of the campaign.

Ryan Lomas

Prop Ryan was runners-up in the Players’ Player vote, but took home the Captain’s gong following a magnificent season.

The Irishman collected 23 caps – 15 as a starter and eight off the bench – as he reached a half century versus Sedgley.

Tries against Dings Crusaders and Bishop’s Stortford have him on four in his 50 appearances to date.

A former Under 20s international, Ryan originally joined the club while at Reading University in the 2021/22 season.

Back for a sixth campaign, he will be looking to start building towards 100.

Oli Rhoads

Powerful wing Oli enjoyed a breakthrough season with seven tries in 14 National One appearances.

He arrived at Old Bath Road from Newbury Blues in October 2024, making his first-team debut at home to Dings Crusaders.

He got his first try a week later at Leicester Lions, adding another at Sedgley Park.

Having continued to impress for the Development XV early-season, Oli bagged a maiden first-team hat-trick in the 34-15 home loss to Plymouth Albion.

Another try at Leicester Lions helped him win November Player of the Month.

His hot streak continued at home to Rotherham Titans and at Rosslyn Park in the following two fixtures.

And Oli also touched down at home to Sale before his campaign was sadly halted early by injury.

*We are delighted to have Willo, Ryan and Oli leading the charge for next term!
