HALF DOZEN RAMS TRIAL FOR SOUTH WEST UNDER 20s

THREE former Minis are among six Rams players set for South West Under 20s trials tomorrow.

And a record-breaking 11 Berkshire boys are among the final 43 selected.

They have been whittled down from an original tally of 150.

Prop Ollie Ireland leads the way following a try-scoring effort in the County Championship semi-final defeat to Hertfordshire on Sunday.

And he is joined by fellow two-time OBB Division One title-winners Theo Pett-Ridge and scrum-half Louie Roumignac.

The other three Rams are all Reading University students.

They are No. 8 Olly Marsh, along with wings Ethan Bassett and Llyr Jones.

The five other Berkshire boys in contention are James Barker-Lopez and Ollie Brooks (both Reading), Will Hibberdine and George Swinn (both Maidenhead) and Will Spain (Newbury).

The next stage will see 23 picked to represent South West in regional competition, before a final England side is selected for the end of June.

*Sadly George suffered an injury in last Sunday’s defeat and we wish him a speedy recovery.

To the others, we wish our best of luck!
