TEAM NEWS: BICKNELL AND BURTON BACK FOR UNDER 23s

HARRY Bicknell skippers Rams Under 23s as they end their campaign at home to Lambs U23s tonight (7.30pm).

Having made his National One debut last November, the hooker is flanked by Bath University’s Fraser Shaw and Otto Bennett.

Behind them, Paddy Jackson has proved one of the breakthrough players of 2025/26.

And he is joined by Will Burrows who has repeatedly caught the eye in Development fixtures.

Former Oratory School duo housemates Charlie Burton and Cian Tappan start on the flanks.

The former was excellent for Berkshire U20s against Dorset & Wilts in their opening County Championship game.

Tappan, meanwhile, has played BUCS Super Rugby for Swansea University as a fresher, and impressed at the Abbey 10s last Thursday.

The pack is completed by No. 8 Seb Burgess who scored two tries against Royal Air Force recently.

Bowen looking to build on brace

Ollie Morgan and Matt Cox make up the same half-back pair which helped the U23s to a runners-up finish at Abbey.

Strong ball-carrier Isaac Tokura proved a typical handful in that event and is joined by Nathan Killiea in midfield.

The outside centre was a try-scorer for Berkshire U20s when they beat Lambs last month.

Former Colt Finlay Wells takes the right wing slot with Sam Bowen on the other side.

He was in tremendous form in bagging a brace versus the RAF.

The starting line-up is completed by the versatile Theo Pett-Ridge at full-back.

The two-time Colts title-winner has been in prolific try-scoring form all season.

Another of his former age-group teammates, Josh Jones, is replacement hooker, with Swansea University’s Lawrence Beboso also covering the front row.

The international prop helped Philippines win last year’s Asia Cup.

Rangy second/back row Ollie McGlennon is also based in Wales at Cardiff Uni, with further power available in the form of Stan Muigai.

Scrum-half Matt Wheeler rounds out the matchday 20.

Rams are looking to complete a clean sweep of 15-a-side wins in their maiden campaign, having previously beaten Chinnor, Richmond and Cambridge.

Entry for tonight’s game is free with food and drink on sale.

Gates open at 6.15pm.
