TEAM NEWS: BUCKLE UP AS FAST CARR MAKES FIRST START

EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD Ryan Carr will make his National One debut as Rams host Leicester Lions tomorrow (3pm).

The former Bracknell Mini joined the club as an Under 15 before going onto score the winning try for the Colts against Windsor as they claimed the OBB Division One title last season.

And having played a starring role for Bath Under 18s in their Premiership runners-up campaign this term, the Forest School ace now gets a maiden senior start.

He has also starred for Beechen Cliff in the ACE league.

Carr is one of five changes from the team which lost at Plymouth Albion last Saturday.

Austin and Stone start among forwards

Two come in the pack, where Army skipper Pete Austin replaces Max Hayman at hooker.

The latter’s season has sadly been ended by a broken arm suffered at The Brickfields.

Austin will be flanked by Ant Marris and Ryan Lomas, with Harry Stone restored to the starting line-up behind them.

He is partnered by Liam Elston in the engine room.

Last week’s impressive debutant Fergus Dick is joined by open-side flanker Aaron Tull and first-time skipper Willo Bicknell in rounding out the forwards.

Fit-again Graham back on the wing

Ollie Hodgson is back in the No. 9 jersey, Mike Cooke alongside in the half-backs.

Morgan MacRae continues at inside centre, with Axel Kalling-Smith joining the 10-score ex-Oratory School man in midfield.

The latter collected his 11th try of the campaign in Devon.

Carr starts on the left with fit-again Luke Graham on the other flank, the South African looking to add to an impressive strike rate of five scores in six appearances this term.

Second-top try-scorer Zach Clow (12) completes the starting line-up at full-back.

Prop duo return to bench

With Paddy Harris rested and James Baker nursing a minor leg injury, Max Marshall and George Breese are the replacement props.

Long-serving Connor Stapley returns from concussion protocols with a 142nd cap on the cards covering the second and back rows.

Another back from injury, versatile three-quarter Rowan Grundy, is joined by scrum-half Ed Hoadley as the final players in the matchday 20.

Young hooker Harry Bicknell and teenage second row Paddy Jackson, along with backs cover Andrew Lamb, are travelling reserves.
