TEAM NEWS: ELLIS SET TO RAISE THE BAT FOR CENTURY

ELLIS Jones is set to win his 100th Rams cap when Clifton visit for tomorrow’s National One tussle (3pm).

The Welshman was a 20-year-old try-scoring debutant while still at Reading University when he made his first start at Canterbury back in December 2017.

And despite a couple of medium-length injuries and missing almost all last season, he arrives at his century with an impressive 25 tries to his name since then.

Jones is again partnered in midfield by another Reading graduate, Rowan Grundy.

Rhoads returns in back three

One of two changes to the starting line-up comes out wide, where Oli Rhoads is back on the left wing.

His return means Zach Clow switches to full back, with Axel Kalling-Smith remaining in situ on the other flank.

The other alteration from the side which lost at Birmingham Moseley sees fit-again Connor Stapley restored to the second row.

He is set for a 139th appearance and is joined by Liam Elston in the engine room.

Up front captain Max Hayman is flanked by Ant Marris and Ryan Lomas at the head of the scrum.

And the back row is also unchanged, with Harry Stone, Mikey Duda and No. 8 Willo Bicknell completing the side.

The latter was named Rams’ Player of the Month for January earlier this week.

Tull back among replacements

Versatile back row Aaron Tull is the other returnee to the matchday squad as he comes back onto the bench.

The former Bristol Bears Academy ace has completed concussion protocols following a knock in the comeback win at Tonbridge Juddians.

Paddy Harris and the record-breaking James Baker are the replacement props.

The former also covers hooker, one of five positions played this term by fellow substitute Morgan MacRae.

The former Wales Sevens man has predominantly played at 12, but has also featured across the back row at times.

Young scrum-half Ollie Hodgson rounds out the squad as the hosts look to get back to winning ways.
