TEAM NEWS: LAMB STARTS AS RAMS CHANGE FOUR

RAMS make four changes to their starting line-up as National One rugby returns to Old Bath Road with the visit of long-term rivals Sale FC tomorrow (3pm).

Fresh from extending his record-breaking number of first-team appearances to 450 at Dings Crusaders, James Baker goes from the off at tight-head in a front row completed by Paddy Harris and captain Max Hayman.

Connor Stapley returns to the engine room in place of the unavailable Liam Elston, Harry Stone alongside him in the other alteration to the pack.

This means the back row of blind-side flanker Aaron Tull, Mikey Duda and No. 8 Willo Bicknell remain in situ as the hosts look to close the gap on the side one place and six points above them in the standings.

Andrew Lamb takes the No. 10 jersey for the first time this season as Mike Cooke’s perfect run of starts comes to an end, young scrum-half Ollie Hodgson inside him.

Jones and Kalling-Smith in midfield

Fresh from crossing the whitewash for the first time this term in Bristol, Ellis Jones continues his quest to become a Rams centurion as he wins his 96th cap, Sweden’s all-time top try-scorer Axel Kalling-Smith outside him in an experienced centre combination.

December’s Player of the Month Henry Bartlett will be looking to make it three tries in as many games during his loan spell from Bath, while fellow wing Oli Rhoads was the November recipient and has touched down six times this season.

Rounding out the side at full-back is Zach Clow, the National One star man in Week 13 who has matched Rhoads’ tally to date.

Tomlinson ready for first appearance

Max Marshall and Ryan Lomas are the props ready to make an impact from the bench, while Ben Atkins will look to bring his usual tenacity and ball-carrying in the back row.

Former Worcester Warriors Academy ace and current Reading University student George Tomlinson is set for debut and is a precocious talent able to cover plenty of positions across the back-line, with Royal Air Force scrum-half Sam Boxhall completing the squad.

Three traveling reserves are named in case of any last-minute setbacks, Army captain Pete Austin joined by teenage second row Paddy Jackson and scrum-half Ed Hoadley.
